Campsite by the lake

Small campsite in France at river

Small campsite at Lac de St. Hélène

Small-scale terraced campsite in the middle of France, near Limoges, by the lakeside at Bujaleuf. Hiking trails start from the campsite and canoes, pedalos and bikes can be rented at the reception.

The terraces provide each pitch with a beautiful view of the lake and surrounds. The heated sanitary building is not new but it is spacious and spotless. In the months of July / August the baker from the village comes by daily with fresh croissants and baguettes.

5 benefits of campsite du lac

  • terrace layout for an unobstructed view of every pitch
  • Beautiful location on a lake with a recreational beach
  • Free use of washing machine, dryer and freezer
  • Always an excellent quality of swimming water
  • Fresh bakery within walking distance in the village

The terraces allow for plenty of space even when the camp site is extra busy, with no tent or caravan in front of you to obstruct your view.

Lac St Hélène where the campsite is located is not technically a lake but part of the River Maulde that has become wider as a result of a barrage further upstream. This means that the “lake” is constantly being refreshed, with the result that the swimming water is always of an excellent quality and blue-green algae not given a chance.

Although a 2-star campsite (low rates), many facilities are included in the price, such as free use of the freezer, free use of washing machines and dryer in the laundry and free WIFI for our guests in the Reception area.

Frequently asked questions

In the village of Bujaleuf, there is a restaurant widely used by locals. They serve an extensive lunch for a small price. You can also eat wonderfully at the restaurant near the beach during July and August, where there is often live music on the terrace.
